Progressive Hiphopstrumentronica

My boards are in a freakin gallery y'all! I didn't that would happen for a few more years haha. Anyways, this week I got some new tunes, some new boards that I've dotted, some good news, and some new skateboarding vids that I'm in to share so keep reading if you wanna see some progression in my dream-to-reality department.

(I really wish I had a better picture, but i don't. So there.)
My boards will be bangin' on these walls till June so pop by if your in the Admiral District of West Seattle.

First off, the whole idea behind this blog is not only to show the world the things that I make, but even more importantly it's a way to better manage myself. I believe that every person has an unlimited potential and can accomplish anything that they put their mind to, but living up to that potential gets a little tough from time to time, and keeping on track is even more difficult. Having this blog helps me be more productive in the areas in life that I'm in love with.

It has been a while since I posted last, and a lot has happened in the last 25 days. I think the main reason it's been almost a month since my last post is that every time I wanna get bloggy wid it, I want to be able to share something new in each department of my strongest passions. I had a bunch of skateboarding and art news right off the bat, but I was lacking a finished beat to share, until last night around 3am. This time around, it was kinda hard for me to finalize a track, because not only am I working on about 4-10 songs simultaneously, but I need them to be as good or better than the last one I produced in order for me to release 'em, which was kinda difficult 'cause the last track I made was filthy as fuck. Haha I'm not afraid of bein into my own jams. I make music that sounds dope to me, so fuck all that other cookie cutter bullshit. Oooosh I dont know why that got all hostile all of sudden. Anyways here's that track.

I got a whole bunch more comin' soon.

I suppose Ill start off chronologically, and begin with the best 5th of May I've ever experienced.
CINCO DE MARGO WAS A BLAST. There were bottomless tacos and beer, there were awesome bands playing dope tunes really fucking loud, all the homies were there, and there was also a best trick contest and jam that went like this:

I had so much fun that I thought I was dreaming.

The next day I got a hold of some footage of some of the other Nomadic team riders and made this:
It's been a while since Nomadic came out with any online videos, and I was sittin on some old footage so this had to happen. There's gonna be another on later this week so stay tuned.

A few days later I had my first exhibit in an ARTWALK!!! I made this promo piece to hype it up.
It was at my first job, a bike/skate/snow shop in the Admiral District. All the walls in the store are PACKED with product, leaving no room for me to hang my work, so I built this crazy contraption the night before.
When I got there and started setting up this ridiculous collection of scrap wood from my back yard, I saw that the business still had their snow gear in the front of the store, so I asked Stu, the owner, when he was planning on taking all that stuff down. To this he replied, "Yesterday" so I offered to help him pack up the winter stock in return for having a decent place to hang my art. He was down, so me and my buddy James set this up:

Heres a video of the process that by buddy James took:

Guess how many boards I sold! That's right, NONE! Saul good though. Got some exposure out of it so I'm still hyped. Plus my buddy saw the board on the flyer and wants to give me 40 for it. The main part of the artwalk was in the alaska junction which was about 2 miles away from the spot I was at, making foot traffic minimal. Maybe ten people came out and saw my stuff. Two of those peeps were my best friend and my dad, so I went out with them to the MetMarket and got down on some tasty dinner.
The only thing I would of done differently was to have big ol' photos showing me skating the boards that I've dotted like this one:
That would of been smart. Oh weeellll... live and learn right?

Right down the street, more my art was, and still is, on display at Mind Unwind Art Gallery. It's for a bird themed show that I mentioned in my last post. That where the photo that started this post is from. My stuff looks a little weird and out of place next to all the canvas work, but I'm kind of a weird dood that feels out of place from time to time so I guess it works out. About 3 days later, I got an email from the gallery owner that had the subject line, "Great News....you sold a piece!" I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. I'm so glad people dig my boards enough to want to hang them on their walls. Apparently some big exec over at UPS really liked it and wants to commission more! We'll see where that leads. I'm way stoked for it!

That was on the 10th.

lets seee.... what else.... Oh yea the boards that I've dotted! Peep.

"Camelback"
"Who?"
"New markers got hella lusta"

Aight chall thats gonna be aboot it. Thanks for takin the time to check out what I'm up to, and have a wonderful day. Ill be back next week with more to share.
